the first of many
I am what I refer to as a "freelance" graphic designer. Which to me means, unemployed, but I will work if you ask me. I moved to San diego a little over a year ago with my girlfriend, who will from here on out be referred to as "gf". Anyhow, I received a bachelors degree in photography from a university in buffalo ny. The great thing about going to a fine arts school, is that they dont feel compelled to teach you how to pay the bills. Upon realizing that I could take pictures for bratty little high school kids, or make a career change, I enrolled in graphic design school. After an 8 month program I graduated with a certificate and a pretty good portfolio. Since then I have completed a 12 week internship for web design, and done on a hand full of interviews. I have managed to remain unemployed ( if you could a part time job as "unemployed" as I do). That said, this is my story/journey of moving to San Diego with gf, and starting a career in graphic design..... just in time for a new depression. Tune in next time for some more feel good stories.
